Terms of Service

Last updated 30 August 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and the person who runs Telos. They cover what Telos does, what you are paying for if you subscribe, and how to stop paying. Please read the sections on the free trial and on cancelling — those are the ones that affect your money.

1. Who you are contracting with

Telos is operated by Vinujan Sivakumar, a sole trader trading as “Telos”, contactable at tutor.telos@gmail.com. In these terms “we”, “us” and “Telos” mean that person, and “you” means the person using the service.

2. What Telos is — and what it is not

Telos is a revision tracker. You log past papers you have sat, enter your marks question by question, and Telos shows you which topics are costing you marks, estimates the grade your recent work sits at, and suggests what to practise next.

A predicted grade is an estimate, not a result. It is calculated from the marks you enter yourself, measured against grade boundaries published by the exam boards for past papers. It is not issued, endorsed or recognised by any exam board, school or university. It does not predict what you will get. Nobody should make a decision that matters — about an application, an appeal, or an entry — on the strength of it.

Telos is not affiliated with AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, SQA, UAT-UK or any other awarding organisation. We do not host, sell or distribute A-level exam papers or mark schemes.

We do make available past papers for the admissions tests (ENGAA, NSAA and TMUA), copied from the free public releases their publishers put online. Those papers remain the copyright of their publishers, we make no claim over them, and we do not charge for them: they are free to every signed-in user, as is the marking and topic analysis Telos performs on them. What we sell are our own materials — the papers and question sets Telos writes — which are priced individually and are not reproductions of anyone else's work.

3. Who can use Telos

You must be at least 13 years old to have an account.

If you are under 18, you may use the free tier, but you must have permission from a parent or guardian before you subscribe to a paid plan or enter any payment details. If you are a parent or guardian and a paid subscription was started on your card without your permission, email us at tutor.telos@gmail.com and we will cancel it and refund it.

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what happens on your account. Accounts are for one person — please do not share logins.

4. Free and paid plans

The free plan lets you log papers, enter marks question by question, and see your topic heatmap. It does not expire and does not need a card.

Telos Pro adds predicted grades, your next three questions, full statistics and topic analytics, and the other features listed on the pricing page. Current prices:

  • £4.99 per month
  • £39.99 per year

Prices include VAT where it applies. Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — see the privacy policy.

5. The free trial, and how it ends

Telos Pro starts with a 7-day free trial. Four things you should know before you start it:

  • You must enter card details to begin the trial. Nothing is charged at that point.
  • The trial lasts 7 days.
  • When it ends, your card is charged automatically at the price of the plan you chose, and then on the same cycle after that until you cancel.
  • If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged anything. You keep Pro until the trial's last day.

Stripe emails a reminder before a trial ends. If your card is declined when the trial ends, the subscription is cancelled rather than left unpaid, and you drop back to the free plan.

One free trial per person. We may decline to offer a trial to an account that has had one before.

6. Cancelling, and refunds

You can cancel at any time, from the Subscription page in your account, which opens the Stripe billing portal. There is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and nobody to talk to first.

When you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not billed again. We do not give partial refunds for the remainder of a period you have already started, except where the law gives you that right or where we agree to.

Your statutory right to cancel. Because you are buying at a distance, UK consumer law gives you 14 days from starting a paid subscription to change your mind and get a refund. If you have used Pro during that time we may reduce the refund in proportion to what you have used. This is in addition to everything above, and nothing in these terms takes it away.

Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account or your logged papers. To delete those, see the privacy policy.

7. Price changes

We may change prices. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you would rather not pay it. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

8. Your content

Your marks, notes, logged papers and uploaded files stay yours. We do not claim ownership of them. We store and process them only to run the service for you — see the privacy policy.

When you upload a file, you confirm you have the right to upload it. Uploads are private to your account. Please do not upload exam-board material you do not have the right to copy, anything belonging to someone else, or anything unlawful. We may remove content that breaks this, and we will tell you why.

9. Using Telos fairly

Please do not:

  • share, sell or transfer your account;
  • scrape, bulk-download or resell anything in Telos, including the grade boundary data;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security or the paid-feature limits;
  • copy the software or run a service based on it — see the licence in the repository;
  • use Telos to store or send anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.

If you seriously or repeatedly break these rules we may suspend or close your account. If we do, we will tell you why and refund any unused paid period, unless the reason is fraud.

10. Tutoring and mentoring

One-to-one tutoring, personal-statement review and revision mentoring are arranged separately by email and are not part of a Telos subscription. Nothing on this page covers them; terms are agreed with you directly before any tutoring is booked or paid for.

11. Availability

We try to keep Telos running and your data safe, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. It may be down for maintenance, or because something we depend on has failed. Telos is not a backup service — keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose.

12. Our responsibility to you

If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable, or for exam results, grades, offers or opportunities — because those depend on your work and on decisions made by other people, not on Telos.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect — the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires a service to be provided with reasonable care and skill, and that stands whatever this page says.

13. Ending your account

You can stop using Telos and delete your account at any time. We may close an account that has broken section 9, or give you at least 30 days' notice if we decide to stop running Telos altogether — in which case we will refund any paid period you have not used.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you — anything to do with price, payment, cancellation or your rights — we will email you at least 30 days beforehand, and you can cancel if you disagree. Smaller corrections take effect when we post them, and the date at the top of this page always tells you when it last changed.

15. Law, and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you keep the protection of your local consumer law and can bring a claim in your own courts.

If something has gone wrong, please email tutor.telos@gmail.com first — most things are quicker to fix directly. We aim to reply within five working days.
